# Voidger Sync

> Keep a local folder in sync with a cloud or drive. Explore conflict handling, deletion safeguards, and practical use cases in Voidger Sync.

Some folders need to keep meeting in the middle. Sync links a folder on this computer to a compatible destination to follow changes in both directions, without turning every update into a manual copy.

## What you can do.

1. **Your project on your computer and in the cloud**: Connect your working folder to a compatible cloud. Keep the two sides linked and follow the pair’s status in Voidger.
2. **An external drive in your workflow**: Use another directory or an external drive as a sync destination. A cloud account is not required to keep two folders aligned.
3. **Pick up after a pause**: Resuming a paused pair reactivates local watching and starts a catch-up sync. If versions conflict, review the available choices before continuing.

2. **Review the starting point**: The first sync establishes a baseline using the local folder as the reference.
3. **Follow the changes**: Watch the pair’s status and resolve conflicts that need your decision.

## An extra safeguard for deletions

Sync includes safeguards against mass deletion. They help draw your attention to high-impact operations, but do not replace an independent copy or version history.

### Can Sync connect any two clouds?

The current workflow links a local folder to a compatible destination. Use Transfer for a one-off copy between two clouds.

### Which side is the reference on the first run?

The local folder is the source of truth for establishing the initial baseline. Review the contents of both sides before linking an existing folder.

### What happens to files changed on both sides?

Sync offers conflict review with choices for preserving versions. It does not promise to eliminate every conflict automatically.

### Does synchronization replace backup?

No. Changes and deletions can propagate between the two sides. Use Time restore points to return to an earlier version of your work.

### Can iCloud be a Sync destination?

iCloud is not a Sync destination in the current version. Use the compatible Transfer and Mount workflows for that connection.
